In June 2016, Council approved the use of $30,000 per year of Gas Tax funds for the planning and design work to upgrade the City playgrounds. Council approved this request with South Quesnel and LeBourdais Parks as the top priority.

City staff have created a priority playground list to help establish which playgrounds need to be replaced when the opportunity arises. This list is reviewed on an annual basis and may be revised.

Top five playgrounds identified in the five year capital plan (listed in order of replacement priority):

  1. South Quesnel Playground - 2017 completion
  2. LeBourdais Park Playground- 2017 completion
  3. Pentland Cres./Patchett St Park Playground
  4. Ritchie Ave Park Playground
  5. Pinchbeck St Park Playground

City staff and the consultants are currently designing the playgrounds from the public input we received in 2016!
