QUESNEL CITY COUNCIL> Sushil Thapar
Councillor Thapar lives with his family in West Quesnel and is serving his fourth term on Council after being elected in 2003.
Shortly after, he was named to the police, fire department and protection services portfolio, a responsibility he held for six years. Coun. Thapar was also the finance chair for the City, from 2005 to 2011.
Coun. Thapar started Family Day in 2003, an ongoing festival that celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 9, 2012.
Councillor Thapar believes in strong family values. He is responsible for the very popular Family Day, which has run every year since 2003. This past year, Family Day was held once again in LeBourdais Park, with thousands enjoying the festivities, food and cultural exchanges.
Councillor Thapar believes in making decisions on merit, and not favouritism nor hidden agendas. He is reasonable and approachable.
