DEVELOPMENT> Review

The Development Review function is to make recommendations to Council and/or the Approving Officer relating to development applications for Official Plan amendments, Zoning Bylaw amendments, Development Permits, Development Variance Permits, Subdivisions, strata conversion proposals and Agricultural Land Reserve appeals. Staff is also responsible for minor development permit applications in addition to reviewing development proposals submitted by the Cariboo Regional District for fringe area development.

The Planning and Development Services Department is responsible for:

  • Reviewing all development applications (e.g. rezoning, development permits, development variance permits, subdivisions, etc.).
  • Assessing and collecting Development Cost Charges and other development related fees.
  • Coordinating the design and installation of infrastructure improvements for all new developments as required.
  • Providing advice on engineering matters in the community planning process.
  • Providing street addresses.
  • Property records maintenance.

The DevelopmentĀ Services Department works with other City departments including: Engineering and Public Works; Corporate Administration; Zoning; Building Approvals; Bylaw Enforcement; Finance; and Quesnel City Council.
